Roll and Core Specifications

Labels are wound onto 3" cores, a common format for organized storage, manual dispensing, and many automated application systems.

If your labels will be machine applied, specify the required wind position. Confirm the following details for your applicator before ordering:

• Label-dispensing direction

• Leading edge

• Copy orientation

• Inside or outside winding requirement

• Maximum acceptable roll dimensions, when applicable

An incorrect wind position may prevent the labels from feeding or applying correctly.

Roll Distribution Rules

Labels from 0.5" × 0.5" through 3" × 3"

• Quantities up to 1,000 are generally supplied on one roll.

• For quantities above 1,000, labels are generally supplied as one roll per 1,000 labels, with an additional roll for each remaining 500 labels.

Labels from 3.5" × 3.5" through 6" × 6.5"

• Quantities up to 500 are generally supplied on one roll.

• For quantities above 500, labels are generally supplied as one roll per 500 labels.

Actual roll counts may vary according to shape, dimensions, material thickness, finish, total quantity, and production requirements. Specialty sizes outside these ranges may follow different roll-distribution rules.

Adhesion and Temperature Information

Qualifying permanent adhesive materials can be applied at temperatures as low as 25°F and have a stated service-temperature range from -60°F to +200°F under suitable conditions.

Actual label performance depends on:

• Moisture and humidity

• Handling and storage conditions

Apply labels to clean, dry, compatible surfaces. Test the selected material before placing a large order or using it for a critical application.

Do not apply the labels directly to frozen materials.

White-Ink and Transparency Notice

White ink is not available on:

• Silver Foil BOPP

• Clear BOPP

• Clear Removable labels

White elements in artwork submitted for these materials will remain unprinted. On clear materials, those areas will appear transparent and allow the application surface to show through. On Silver Foil BOPP, the metallic material will remain visible.

Review clear and metallic label artwork carefully before approving the digital proof.

Food-Contact Notice

These roll labels are not approved for direct contact with food. Apply them only to compatible exterior packaging, bottles, containers, wrappers, boxes, bags, or other indirect-contact surfaces.

The customer is responsible for confirming that the selected label material, adhesive, ink, finish, and application meet applicable packaging and labeling requirements.

• Application method: Confirm whether labels will be applied manually or with an automated applicator.

• Packaging color: Remember that clear stocks allow the underlying surface color to influence the finished appearance.

Artwork and File Preparation

Prepare your artwork according to the following requirements:

• Include a 0.125" bleed around artwork extending to the cut edge.

• Keep text, logos, barcodes, QR codes, and important graphics safely inside the trim area.

• Use high-resolution photographs and graphics.

• Recommended color mode: CMYK.

• Convert fonts to outlines or embed them.

• Avoid overprint attributes unless specifically required.

• Clearly identify the selected shape, finished size, material, adhesive, and finish.

• Specify the required wind position for automated application.

• Review clear and metallic designs carefully because white elements may not print.

• Maximum upload size: 75 MB.

• Accepted formats: EPS, AI, PSD, JPG, PNG, and PDF.
